CALL FOR CHALLENGER ROUNDS – XI NLS NMC (VIRTUAL)

We are pleased to announce the Challenger Rounds for the XIth National Law School—Negotiation, Mediation, and Client Counselling Competition (NLS NMC) hosted by NLSIU, Bengaluru. These rounds are being organized to provide an opportunity to students who have not yet applied but wish to represent the university in this prestigious competition.

CHALLENGER ROUNDS DETAILS

Challenger Rounds will be conducted for the following formats:

  • Negotiation

  • Mediation (Client-Attorney & Mediator)

  • Client Counselling

The Challenger Rounds will be held on 20th April 2025 virtually. Exact room numbers and detailed schedule will be communicated shortly.

  • In the ADR Application Form, please clearly mention the name of the competition and the specific format (Negotiation, Mediation, or Client Counselling) that your team wishes to appear for.

  • Fixtures will be released at 10:30 PM on 19th April 2025.

  • Confidential Information for Negotiation and Mediation rounds will be shared 1 hour prior to the respective rounds on 20th April, 2025.

Based on performance, selected individuals will be nominated to represent UPES at the XI NLS NMC in their respective formats.

Note: The ADR Committee will be using the propositions from last year’s edition of NLS NMC for the Challenger Rounds.

EVENT NAME:

XIth National Law School—Negotiation, Mediation, and Client Counselling Competition (NLS NMC)

ELIGIBILITY:
All students of the School of Law, UPES, are eligible to apply. Interested candidates may apply for one or more of the following formats:

  • Negotiation

  • Mediation (Client-Attorney & Mediator)

  • Client Counselling

FORMAT:

  • Preliminary Rounds will be conducted online.

  • Post-break Rounds will take place offline at NLSIU, Bengaluru.

  • The Negotiation Segment will serve as India’s national qualifier for the International Negotiation Competition (INC) 2026.

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • Provisional Registration Deadline: 16 April 2025

  • Final Registration & Payment Deadline: 22 April 2025

  • Preliminary Rounds (Online): 10–11 May 2025

  • Post-break Rounds (Offline at NLSIU): July 2025

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested students must apply by filling out the Adr Application Form latest by 19th April 2025, 8:30 pm.

In the ADR Application Form, please clearly mention the name of the competition and the specific format (Negotiation, Mediation, or Client Counselling) that your team wishes to appear for.

In case of any query, contact the ADR Committee at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in. Kindly ensure that all information provided is accurate, as any discrepancies found will lead to outright rejection of the application.
