2nd International Mediation Competition (IMC-V-2022)
Mediation has evolved as a nucleus in the process of adjudication. After the success of the previous edition, we take immense pleasure to invite you to the 2nd International Mediation Competition (IMC-V-2022) conducted virtually by His Highness The Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam, India in association with Lex Erudites. The event is a unique opportunity for students to learn and practice their negotiation skills through role-playing a mediation problem drafted by an experienced legal practitioner and presenting them before proficient international mediators. The event is scheduled to be conducted from 01st - 03rd of July 2022. The schedule for the competition also provides an opportunity for all the participants to attend an exclusive workshop by luminaries in the field of mediation. The envision of this contest is to bring out the best in our participants and help them inculcate the unique blend of theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of mediation.
About Maharajas Government Law College
His Highness the Maharajas Government Law College, Ernakulam is an institution for undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate legal education in Kochi, Kerala, India. Founded in 1874, it is the first Law College in the State of Kerala and also one of the oldest law colleges in India. It is affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University in Kottayam. The college is a recognised Research Centre in Law under the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam since 2010. The college’s alumni include Honourable (Retired) Chief Justice of India K.G. Balakrishnan, Honourable Justice K. M. Joseph, Judge, Supreme Court of India and N. R. Madhava Menon, Indian civil servant, Lawyer and Legal educator.
About Lex Erudites
Lex Erudites is a humble initiative by some undergraduate students of law with a primary vision to provide a platform for socio-legal discourse and scholarship. Lex Erudites volunteers to act as a stimulus to exhort the young aspiring minds from distinct fields of study to ink their free-spirited, reasoned thoughts and opinions, thereby, contributing to the informed and participative citizenry. We as an e-journal seek to advance knowledge across the borders in the field of law. Lex Erudites seeks to bridge the gap between the legal fraternities around the world and also to build a meritorious community of law students and legal professionals.
Eligibility
- The registered contestants must be full time or part-time law students.
- Students enrolled and pursuing post-graduate diploma or short- term certificate courses in law are not eligible to apply.
- Cross-Institute Teams shall not be eligible to participate in this Competition.
- A single Team per Institute shall be allowed to register for this Competition.
- 1st Position- Rs 15,000/- & a certificate course package to the team members by our supporting partner Enhelion Knowledge Ventures Pvt Ltd.
- 2nd Position- Rs 10,000/
- Cash prize of Rs 5000/- & a certificate course by our supporting partner Enhelion Knowledge Ventures Pvt Ltd.
- A certificate of merit will be issued to the winning team, runners- up and the best mediator.
- A certificate of participation will be issued to teams competing in both rounds of the preliminary stage ( Prelims 1 & 2).

Application Procedure- The interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to ggoswami@ddn.upes.ac.in latest by 20th June 2022 before 11:59 PM. In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
