3rd AIADR International Mediation Competition (2026 Edition)
25th July 2026 – 11th October 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition is designed as a practical, simulation-based mediation event where participants engage in realistic dispute resolution scenarios. It consists of Preliminary Rounds, Semi-Finals, and Final Round, with performance evaluated entirely on oral advocacy, negotiation, and mediation skills.

Rounds Explained:

  • Preliminary Rounds:
    Conducted virtually; each team participates in two rounds. Each round includes a 90-minute mediation session followed by scoring and feedback.
  • Semi-Finals:
    Top 8 teams qualify based on cumulative scores and compete in person.
  • Final Round:
    Top 3 teams compete for final rankings and awards.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to students enrolled in any undergraduate or postgraduate program at the time of registration. Participants must be bona fide students, and proof of enrollment may be required by the organizing committee.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Each team shall consist of five (5) members, including:

    • One Mediator (fixed role)
    • Two Counsels
    • Two Clients

    Teams may be formed within the same institution or across institutions. Each team must designate a Lead Coordinator for official communication.

Important Dates 

    • Registration Opens: 23rd February 2026
    • Registration Closes: 5th July 2026
    • Problem Release: 6th July 2026
    • Preliminary Rounds:
      • Round 1: 25th–26th July 2026
      • Round 2: 1st–2nd August 2026
    • Semi-Finals & Finals: 10th–11th October 2026


Registration Fees

RM 750 per team (approx. ₹13,500)

Awards
  • Champion: Trophy + RM 1500 (approx. ₹27,000)
  • 1st Runner-Up: Trophy + RM 1000 (approx. ₹18,000)
  • 2nd Runner-Up: Trophy + RM 500 (approx. ₹9,000)
  • Additional awards include:

    • Distinction Awards (e.g., Opening Statement, Teamwork, Rapport Building)
    • Performance Excellence Awards for Mediators and Negotiating Teams
    • Certificates of Merit and Participation

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 30 June 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
