About YCM

YCM is India’s first training, service-providing, and network-building organization that aims at dispute prevention and dispute resolution for all. The team at YCM believes that mediation is an effective way of resolving conflicts and that it is essential to have competent mediators who can facilitate the process.

About the Competition

This competition aims to provide a platform for students from different academic disciplines to hone their mediation skills and gain invaluable experience in resolving disputes through mediation.
The Key Educational Institution Partner is Warwick University UK, which also sponsors cash prizes. 

Registration Fees

INDIAN TEAM - INR 6000/-
FOREIGN TEAM - USD 80/- | EURO 75/-

Team Composition

  • A team of three students will be required to participate in several rounds of mediation sessions, where they will be presented with realistic scenarios to resolve.
  • The competition will be judged by a panel of experienced mediators, who will provide feedback to the teams after each round.
  • This competition will provide a unique opportunity for students to learn about mediation, develop their communication and negotiation skills, and network with other students and professionals in the field.
  • There’s a cap of 32 teams for the competition and the confirmation of teams will be on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

Awards

  • The top-performing teams will receive attractive Cash prizes up to INR 95,000/-, certificates, Internship opportunities, presentation opportunities at international mediation conferences, and many other exclusives.
  • YCM opportunities and discounts on various courses offered by YCM are covered in depth in the attached brochure.
  • They will also be extending a discount on our mediation training course to all the participants and a workshop/training session before the competition to better acquaint the participants with the skills and preparation required.

Application Procedure-  The interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac.in with all necessary details (including Internal Ranks, details of team members, Contact number) latest by 5th May 2023 before 11:59 PM. In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright if any discrepancy is found.
