Interesting overview of the 2023 International Mediation Competition and its connection to Thailand Arbitration Center (THAC)—it clearly shows how mediation is being promoted as a practical and structured alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanism in international legal practice.
ReplyDeleteWhat stands out is how these competitions are not just academic exercises, but real training grounds for negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills that are essential in cross-border commercial disputes. They also reflect the growing global shift toward mediation as a faster, more collaborative alternative to traditional litigation, especially in international business contexts.
It’s also interesting to see Thailand positioning itself as a regional hub for ADR development through initiatives like THAC, which helps strengthen both legal education and practical dispute resolution capabilities in Southeast Asia.
From a broader commercial perspective, this kind of legal infrastructure is increasingly important for businesses operating across borders, particularly when considering regulatory planning and tax structuring Thailand, where legal predictability and dispute resolution mechanisms can directly impact investment decisions.
