Virtual Mediation Advocacy Competition (VMAC) 2026
Organised in association with SettleWiseNow and IAMC Hyderabad

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

VMAC 2026 is a first-of-its-kind international mediation advocacy competition focused exclusively on evaluating mediation advocacy as a professional legal skill. The competition follows a three-phase structure:

Phase 1 – Training & Orientation

Participants receive curated resources and live training sessions on mediation advocacy, pitching mediation to clients, drafting mediation briefs, and settlement strategies.

Phase 2 – Preliminary Rounds (Online)

Three structured rounds assess different mediation advocacy skills:

  • Deal-Making Round
  • Mediation Pitch Round
  • Mediation Brief & Live Mediation Round

Phase 3 – Finals (Offline in Hyderabad)

Quarterfinals, Semi-Finals, and Grand Finals are conducted in person before practicing mediators and professionals, where advocacy, negotiation, and conduct are evaluated live.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to law students worldwide, including students from:

  • 3-year LL.B. programmes
  • 5-year integrated LL.B. programmes
  • LL.M. programmes

Students from all years and institutions are eligible to participate. No prior mediation experience is required. 

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • The brochure specifies participation in teams of 2–3 members. Participants engage collaboratively in mediation advocacy exercises involving negotiation, mediation pitching, and drafting mediation briefs throughout the competition rounds.

Important Dates 

    • Registrations Open: 11 April 2026
    • Training Phase Begins: 5 June 2026 onwards
    • Online Preliminary Rounds: 3–12 July 2026
    • Offline Finals in Hyderabad: 7–9 August 2026
    • Registrations Close: 5 June 2026

EVENT NAME: 3rd JGLS–Khaitan & Co Negotiation Competition 2026 FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition will be conducted in two stages. First, all provisionally registered teams will participate in the Negotiation Plan Round (8th–15th October 2025) , where they will submit detailed negotiation strategies based on the released problem. The top 16 teams from this stage will qualify for the oral rounds held on-campus at O.P.   EVENT NAME: Lex Infinitum 2026 – 11th Edition of the International Dispute Resolution Competition FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition consists of Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and a Final Round . All teams participate in two preliminary rounds, acting once as Requesting Party and once as Responding Party. The top 8 Negotiating Teams and top 4 Mediators advance to the Quarter-Finals. Winners proceed to the Semi-Finals, which serve as the final round for mediators, and the top 2 Negotiating Teams then face off in the Final Round, mediated by a professional mediator.
