Participation and Allotment Rules- 4th UPES Internal Mediation Competition, 2019



ALLOTMENT RULES- 2019- 2020
Representation of Teams outside School of law, UPES.
These rules apply to the entire process of allotment of External ADR Competition (hereinafter, the external competition) held at other Universities/colleges from the date of declaration of the intra competition results.
·         GENERAL RULES
 1.  It is compulsory to participate in the Internal ADR Competitions held by LAC- ADR Association  to be eligible to participate in the external Competitions. Any student who has not participated in the Competition shall have no claim of any nature with the LAC with respect to allotments.
  2.   A student will be allowed to participate in One External Competition in one allotment period that shall be allotted on the basis of rankings in IV Internal Mediation Competition, 2019. 
 3.  Allotment to Committee: There shall be committee preferences depending upon the slots in a particular ADR tournament. In case of multiple applications, there will be a fair procedure of allotment as in extreme cases there will be challengers conducted. The final allotment will be made on the discretion of Faculty Convener and Student Convener LAC-ADR Association.
 4. Basis of Allotment & Committee Preference: All allotments will be based on the Internal ADR Competitions conducted by LAC-ADR Association. No challengers shall be conducted for any allotment of competitions except in case of committee preferences, to be decided at the sole discretion of LAC-ADR Association Student Convener and Secretary. All competitions, whether notified or not at the Start Date, shall be allotted solely on the basis of the participation and the rank in the Internal ADR Competition.
 5.  Bar on Multiple Applications: Applicants can not apply for more than one Competition at a time i.e. only one application for participation will be considered at a time.
 6.  Submission of Participation & Conditional Reimbursement form: It shall be mandatory for every participating team to fill the external participation form and the conditional reimbursement form failing to which, their participation may be cancelled.
 7. Participants are required to prepare their level best for the competitions and are required to conduct themselves with honor and dignity at all times during external representation.
 8. Mandatory Approval: No student is allowed to register themselves for any external competition without prior approval of LAC-ADR Association. Any such action in contravention of this clause attracts lifetime blacklist from LAC-ADR Association. 
 9. Any team backing out of a competition post allotment will be blacklisted from participating in any competition for lifetime. In case of a valid justification, final decision will be taken at the discretion of the Faculty  Convener in consultation with Student Convenor .
10. Notification of competitions: All upcoming Mediation competitions will be notified on the soladrupes.blogspot.com and then the rules shall be applicable for the allotment.
11.  In case of any breach of these rules, a disciplinary action will be initiated against the wrong doer or the team, as the case may be.
12.  The top 4 teams of the tournament shall be allotted on basis of their team rank.
13.  The other participants can apply through the cumulative average of their individual ranks, in the tournament.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Rank of Mediator- 23
Rank of Client-Counsel Pair- 13
Cumulative Team rank – (23+13)/2 = 18
