About the University

Chanakya National Law University, Patna was established under the able guidance of its Vice-Chancellor/Pro–Chancellor, Prof. Dr. A. Lakshminath, former Dean and Registrar, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. CNLU was established under the Chanakya National Law University Act, 2006 (Bihar Act No. 24 of 2006) and included in section 2(f) & 12(B) of the U.G.C. Act, 1956.
 
About the Competition
Chanakya Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution, CNLU, Patna is organising the 1st Edition of CNLU National Mediation Competition, 2023 in association with Singhania & Partners LLP and PSL Solicitors and Advocates.
Competition Format and Schedule
The Competition is scheduled to be held in a hybrid manner, with the Preliminary and the Quarterfinal Rounds to be held in a virtual mode on 21st-22nd January 2023 and the Semi-Final and Final Rounds to be held physically from the Chanakya National Law University Campus on 11th February 2023. 

Registration Fees

Since the competition is in a hybrid format, preliminary and quarterfinal rounds will be done online, and all teams will be required to pay INR 4000 (per team). Qualifying teams then would be coming to CNLU to compete in the Semi-finals and Final Rounds and will be required to pay an extra INR 2000 (per negotiating pair and mediator) which shall include a Training Workshop, Accommodation at a 4-Star Resort, and Food Arrangements, among others.

  1. Winning Mediator.
  2. Best Negotiating Pair.
  3. Runner-up Mediator.
  4. Runner-up Negotiating Pair.
  5. Best Mediator (In the preliminary rounds).
  6. Best Client (In the preliminary rounds).
  7. Best Counsel (In the preliminary rounds).

Application Procedure:

The interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac.in and abhijit.b@ddn.upes.ac.in with all necessary details (including Internal Ranks, details of team members) latest by 20th December 2022 before 11:59 PM. In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
