3rd LI National Mediation Competition, 2023

 

About the Competition

3rd LI National Mediation Competition 2023 is an online competition organized by LawInternships (The Online Law School). We had it’s 1st and 2nd chapter in the year 2020 and 2022 respectively with the vision to promote process of mediation to the young minds. With mediation gaining traction as an effective and efficient means of alternative dispute resolution, with the same inspiration LawInternships (The Online Law School) continuing the third chapter of National Mediation Competition. This competition will be conducted virtually allowing the students to hone their advocacy skills with respect to mediation. This Competition will provide an opportunity to the participants to develop the requisite skills for a dynamic process of Mediation. The competition invites participation either in team or as an individual.

Competition mode and Date: Online; February 03, 2023 to February 05, 2023.

Team Composition

For Team Rounds: Each team shall comprise of three students consisting of one Mediator, one Counsel and one Client. The students forming one team may be from different institutions. The roles which have been pre-assigned by the team shall be carried forward throughout the Competition, in every round. Change of roles after the registration shall not be entertained.

For Individual Rounds: Considering the outbreak situation, the Organising Committee has provided the students with an opportunity to conveniently participate individually. Wherein a student will be allotted the role of the Counsel on behalf of either of the Parties or he/she may be allotted the role of the Mediator. The roles shall change in every progressive round. The allotment of the roles before each round will be done by the Organising Committee and the same will be communicated to the participants.

Registration Fees

Team Rounds: INR 1500/- (Rupees Fifteen Hundred only). 

Individual Rounds: INR 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only). 

Awards

For the team rounds:

Best Team: Cash prize of INR 7500/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and an Internship Opportunity by LawInternships. 

Runner Up Team: Cash Prize of INR 4500/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and an Internship Opportunity by LawInternships. 

Participation Certificate + 10% discount on Internship-cum-Training Program will be provided to all the participants. 

For the individual rounds:

Best Mediator: Cash prize of INR 1500/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and an Internship Opportunity by LawInternships. 

Best Counsel: Cash prize of INR 1500/- + Trophy + Certificate of Merit and an Internship Opportunity by LawInternships. 

Participation Certificate + 10% discount on Internship-cum-Training Program will be provided to all the participants.

Application Procedure:

The interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac.in and abhijit.b@ddn.upes.ac.in with all necessary details (including Internal Ranks, details of team members) latest by 11th January 2023 before 11:59 PM. In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
