3rd Edition of the ICFAI Mediation Competition 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition is designed as a simulation of real-time mediation proceedings, focusing on negotiation, communication, and dispute resolution skills. It consists of Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Final, Semi-Final, and Final Rounds.

  • In the Preliminary Rounds, all participating teams compete, and rankings are determined based on scores.
  • The top teams advance to the Quarter-Finals, which follow a knockout format.
  • The competition further progresses to the Semi-Finals and Final Round, where the best teams demonstrate advanced mediation techniques.
  • Each round includes structured mediation sessions with caucus (private discussions) and strict time limits, closely replicating real mediation environments.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to law students enrolled in recognized institutions who wish to develop practical skills in mediation and ADR. Participants must register through their respective institutions and comply with all procedural requirements, including submission of necessary documents such as a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Each team shall consist of 3 members, who will perform the roles of:

    • Client
    • Counsel
    • Mediator

    Participants will actively engage in mediation sessions, with roles designed to simulate real dispute resolution dynamics.

Important Dates 

    • Competition Dates: 18th – 19th April 2026
    • Last Date for Final Registration: 15th April 2026


Registration Fees

    • ₹1,500 per team (non-refundable)
    • Payment is to be made after provisional registration and confirmation by the organizing committee

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 10 April 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.

EVENT NAME: 3rd JGLS–Khaitan & Co Negotiation Competition 2026 FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition will be conducted in two stages. First, all provisionally registered teams will participate in the Negotiation Plan Round (8th–15th October 2025) , where they will submit detailed negotiation strategies based on the released problem. The top 16 teams from this stage will qualify for the oral rounds held on-campus at O.P.   EVENT NAME: Lex Infinitum 2026 – 11th Edition of the International Dispute Resolution Competition FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition consists of Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and a Final Round . All teams participate in two preliminary rounds, acting once as Requesting Party and once as Responding Party. The top 8 Negotiating Teams and top 4 Mediators advance to the Quarter-Finals. Winners proceed to the Semi-Finals, which serve as the final round for mediators, and the top 2 Negotiating Teams then face off in the Final Round, mediated by a professional mediator.
