IX SYAR–Trilegal National Negotiation Competition, 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition will be conducted virtually via Zoom and follows a multi-stage negotiation format designed to simulate real-life commercial negotiations. It consists of Preliminary Rounds followed by Advanced Rounds, including Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round.

  • All teams participate in the Preliminary Round, after which the top 16 teams qualify for the Octa-Finals.
  • The competition then proceeds in a knockout format through Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals.
  • Each round involves structured negotiation sessions with time-bound discussions and feedback from judges.
  • Teams are provided with general information and confidential (hidden) information before sessions to strategize effectively.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to students enrolled in undergraduate LL.B. programmes or equivalent courses from any recognized institution. Each institution is permitted to send up to four teams for participation in the competition.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Each team shall consist of 2 members only, who will assume the roles of:

    • Client
    • Counsel

    Both participants actively engage in negotiation sessions and are jointly evaluated on their performance, teamwork, and negotiation strategy.

Important Dates 

    • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 30 April 2026
    • Last Date for Final Registration: 15 May 2026
    • Release of Negotiation Problem(s): 1 June 2026
    • Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: 5 June 2026
    • Release of Clarifications: 15 June 2026
    • Competition Dates: 19–21 June 2026


Registration Fees

    • ₹6,000 per team (non-refundable)
    • Payment is required after confirmation of provisional registration.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 20 April 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
