About the Competition
School of Law, IMS Unison University is organizing its paramount event, 2nd Edition of National Mediation Competition 2021 held on October 7th-9th 2021 in online mode.
The National Mediation Competition (NMC, 2K21) is an annual competition that aims to promote greater knowledge and interest, allowing students to flex their advocacy muscles within the mediation process. The competition aims to provide a platform that reflects the ever-growing expectation of clients to utilize other cost-effective alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to trial.
Mode of the Competition
The Competition will be conducted in Online mode through Microsoft Teams application.
Eligibility
The Competition is open for students pursuing three/five-year LL.B. Degree Courses from a recognized Law College/University in India, subject to the fulfillment of the registration formalities.
Team Composition
- Each team shall comprise of three students consisting of one Mediator and two team members acting as the client-counsel pair (referred to as the “Mediating Pair”).
- One member of the team will be designated as Mediator, whose role shall remain unchanged throughout the Competition. The other two members of the team will form the Mediating pair, representing a client and his /her Counsel.
- The respective roles though not interchangeable within a round, are changeable in different rounds.
- The two mediators in one competition session (from different teams) for all purposes will be referred to as Mediator 1 (M1) and Mediator 2 (M2) as designated in the matchups.
Registration Fee
The registration fee shall be Rs. 200/- for each team. The registration fee shall be non-refundable and non-transferable.
Registration Details
- Only 14 teams will be allowed to register in the competition on a first-come-first-serve basis.
- Once a team registers by completing the formalities given, a Code (hereinafter “Team Code”) shall be assigned to the team.
- Teams can register for the competition either through the official channel of their institute or as independent participation.

Last Date for Provisional Registration: September 20, 2021.
Prizes
- 1st Position (Best Team): Cash Prize of INR 6,000/- (Six Thousand Only) & Certificate of Merit.
- 2nd Position (Runner up): Cash Prize of INR 4,000/- (Four Thousand Only) & Certificate of Merit.
- Best Mediator: INR 2,000/- (Two Thousand Only) & Certificate of Merit.
- All registered participants will receive an E-Certificate of Participation.
