The Alternate Dispute Resolution Association 2021-2022, UPES is pleased to be organizing the 6th UPES Internal Mediation Competition, 2021

1. About the 6th Internal Mediation Competition, UPES

The Internal Mediation Competition is a unique opportunity for students to learn and practice mediation and negotiation skills through the role-playing of a mediation problem drafted by experienced mediators and practitioners. The objective of this event is to promote the spirit of amicable resolution of disputes and aims to foster an environment for law students to learn and develop their skills in mediation.

The Alternate Dispute Resolution Association (ADR) of School of Law, UPES, Dehradun is pleased to announce that it is organizing a Mediation Competition, the 6th edition of UPES Internal Mediation Competition, 2021.

2. Eligibility

●        The Competition is open to all the Law Students from the Second year to the final year.

3. Team Composition

●      Each team shall comprise 3 students- one mediator, one client, and one counsel. The roles of the students shall remain the same throughout the rounds.

4. Format

●      Each team will consist of 3 students, as Client-Counsel Pair known as the Negotiating Pair and A Mediator.

●      A total of 70 teams can participate on a “first-cum-first-serve” basis.

●      The Competition will be conducted in online mode.

5. Registration Procedure

●      The registration form requires teams to specify the roles of each member. The roles which have been pre-assigned by the team will be carried forward throughout the competition. Change of roles after the registration will not be permitted.

1. Winner- Mediator

2. Winner- Negotiation

3. Runner Up- Mediator

4. Runner Up- Negotiation

5.Best Team- Preliminary Round

6. Second Best Team- Preliminary Round

7. Best Opening Statement- Mediator in the Preliminary Round

8. Best Opening Statement-Negotiating Team in the Preliminary Round

 

7. Deadlines/dates

●      Last date for Registration- The registration window will close as soon as 70 teams will be Registered.

●      Competition Dates - 2nd September- 4th September 2021.
