VIII 2TG-RMLNLU International Mediation Competition, 2022

 It is our immense pride and pleasure in inviting your prestigious University to the VIII 2TG-RMLNLU International Mediation Competition, 2022 that is scheduled to be held virtually from 4th -6th March 2022.  In furtherance of the same, please find below the necessary details with regards to the competition. 

 

Since its inception in 2012, the ADR Cell of the University has been organizing the National Mediation Competition. In 2021, we achieved a major breakthrough by going global. Now called the 2TG-RMLNLU International Mediation Competition, the event is one of the oldest mediation competitions in the country and South AsiaFurthermorethe yesteryear was a resounding success that garnered quality participation of 32 teams from countries such as the United Kingdom, Singapore, Brazil and Norway, in what was a tough competition among the cream of the crop of the student-legal fraternity and a whooping INR 1,50,000, equivalent to US$ 2050 worth prizes were distributed. 

This year, the competition is getting even bigger and better wherein; national and international students will compete for glory and cash prizes. The competition will not only provide them with a platform to showcase their ADR skills but also allow them to network with some of the world's most renowned professionals in the field of consensual dispute resolution, and benefit from their experience and expertise.

FORMAT:

  • A team shall consist of two members from the same university, one assuming the role of the mediator, while the other, the negotiator. 
  • In its one-of-a-kind pattern, there shall be two mediators and two negotiators, all from different teams, competing against each other in a session.
  • Full time or part-time students pursuing the undergraduate or postgraduate programme are allowed to participate.

REGISTRATION:

There are two steps for the registration process for the competition, the application and the selection. The application for a slot has to be made by filling the Provisional Registration which is a confirmation of the intention of the participation of a College/University. The form needs to be filled latest by 5th February 2022. Please find the Link to Provisional registration, here. 


After the confirmation of the intention to participate, the ADR Cell would send an acknowledgement mail, consisting of information about the Final Registration. The University will be required to complete the final process via a form that will seek details of prospective teams. Failure to complete the same shall result in forgoing the slot.

The registration fee is-

  • INR 4500 Per Team for participants of Indian nationality
  • US$ 65 for participants of other nationalities.

AWARDS

The total Prize pool is ₹ 1,75,000, equivalent to US$ 2350. Details regarding the same can be found in our brochure.

Application Procedure- The interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  spathak@ddn.upes.ac.in  latest by 1st February 2022 before 11:59 PM. In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
