1st National Corporate Due Diligence Competition, 2025

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition will consist of two rounds: Round 1 – Identification & Redrafting, where teams will be provided with a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) containing erroneous clauses that they must identify, color-code based on risk severity (red for high, yellow for moderate, green for low), and redraft to safeguard their client’s interests; and Round 2 – Negotiation, where teams will engage directly with counterparts to negotiate the retention, amendment, or removal of clauses, with matchups determined by Round 1 rankings. The winners will be declared on the basis of their cumulative performance, with equal weightage given to both the drafting and negotiation rounds (50% each).

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

The competition is open to students enrolled in a 5-year integrated law program (from the 3rd year onwards) or a 3-year LL.B. program (from the 2nd year onwards), with each team comprising two law students, who may belong to the same or different institutions, and preference will be given to participants having prior experience in corporate law.

  • Registrations Open: 22nd September 2025

  • Registrations Close: 20th October 2025

  • Announcement of Selected Teams: 22nd October 2025

  • Proposition Release: 27th October 2025

  • Submission of DD Reports: 4th November 2025

  • Competition Rounds (Negotiation): 8th November 2025

Registration Fees:

  • Initial Screening Fee: ₹500 (includes SOP + CV selection process)

  • Final Registration Fee (for selected 16 teams): ₹8,000

  • Meals (Breakfast, Lunch, High Tea) on 8th Nov included. Accommodation not provided, but assistance available.

EVENT NAME: 3rd JGLS–Khaitan & Co Negotiation Competition 2026 FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition will be conducted in two stages.
