RCL NATIONAL MEDIATION COMPETITION- AUGUST 18-20, 2023 BENGALURU, INDIA

 

Ramaiah College of Law is pleased to host the inaugural edition of RCL NMC (National Mediation Competition) from August 18-20,2023. The competition will host 24 teams from India, chosen based on experience and accomplishments of the universities in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution ("ADR''). 

The objective of the competition is to instill the skills of negotiation and mediation in the law students across India and expose them to the pragmatic approach based on real-life simulations. It will include a special training session conducted by 'CAMP' as well as various networking sessions for participants.

FORMAT

1. Two Preliminary rounds
2. One Quarter-final round 
3. One Semi-final round
4. One Final round

The competition shall consist of:

1. Client-Attorney Segment.

• Each Participating team shall consist of two eligible Students, one playing the role of "Client", and the other playing the role of "Attorney".
• Participating team shall be allowed to change the roles

2.Mediator Segment

•  Each participating team shall consist of one eligible student, playing the role of Mediator.

ELIGIBILITY

The Competition is open to bona fide students of any stream who are:

• Enrolled in any undergraduate 5-year/ 3-year law course at institutions located in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India AND
• Are registered in their respective institutions for the Current Academic Year.

REGISTRATION

1. The registration will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, up to a maximum of 24 Mediating teams and 12 Mediators. Every Institute may register a maximum of two teams.
2.  Participating teams have to pay a registration fee of 7,500 per person.
3.  Fee for coaches is 7,500

Interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac. and hartejs.kochher@ddn.upes.ac.in in with all necessary details (including Name, Sap Id, Course & Batch, Year and Internal Ranks of TEAM MEMBERS, Contact number) latest by 10th August 2023 before 11:59 PM.
