6th NUJS MEDIATION COMPETITION, 2024

"National University of Juridicial Sciences, Kolkata is organizing the 6th Edition of the NUJS Mediation Competition (6th NUJS MC), to be held from 8th-10th March 2024".


The NUJS Mediation Competition is the flagship event of the ADR Society of NUJS, Kolkata, one of the premier National Law Universities in India. Each year since 2019, the competition has garnered participation from prestigious universities not just across the country, but on a global level, from countries such as the United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Singapore, Pakistan and many more. In 2021, the competition was a qualifier from the prestigious International Mediation Singapore, hosted by SIMI, the Singapore International Mediation Institute.


FORMAT OF THE COMPETITION:

  • The Competition will be held in an offline format, at the WBNUJS campus.
  • There shall be two preliminary rounds followed by quarter - finals, semi-finals, and finals.
  • The three members of the team shoud be divided into following two sub- teams- a Negotiating Team, Comprising two members who shall palay the roles of client and counsel, and a singke Mediator.
  • The Negotiating Teams and Mediators from each University would compete seprately, and breaks would be separate. 
  • Each round shall therefore be a mediated negotiation, with two negotiating teams and two mediators.
  • Team may also be accompanied by a maximum of 1 coach.



ELIGIBILITY:
  • Any student pursuing their Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in law/business or allied subjects is eligible to participate in the competition.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:

Interested Students before filling out the Participation form Must apply at soladr@ddn.upes.acin and cc to anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac.in with all necessary details (Including Name, Sap Id,Course & Batch, Year, and Contact Number) latest by 11th January 2024 by 12 Pm. In case of any qyery, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information: the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy found.
