THE CDRC VIENNA IBA – VIAC CDRC MEDIATION & NEGOTIATION COMPETITION, 2024
The IBA- VIAC CDRC Mediation & Negotiation Competition is the leading global consensual dispute resolution moot competition, attracting top students annualy to Vienna. Benefitting greatly from the experience and knowledge of, and guidance by, the world leading consensual dispute resolution experts, competitiors can develop and hone their skills, experience and brilliance in international commercial mediation. In 2015, the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC) took an important step to ensure that the consensual dispute resolution processes mediation and negotiation could become real game- changers in the future of international commercial dispute resolution.
PARTICIPATION:
- Universities can apply to participate in the CDRC Vienna, entering either as Negotiator Team, A Mediator Team or both a Negotiator and a Mediator Team.
- The CDRC Vienna requires applications from Negotiator Teams and Mediator Teams separately.
- Students must be registered as full- time or part-time students in the academic year of 2023/2024. Students who graduate within three months before the start of the CDRC Vienna, are stilleligible to participate.
- Graduate students are permitted to participate if they have completed their undergraduate studies no longer than six months prior to the start of the CDRC Vienna, and have since gained work experience of no more than one year since their graduation.
- Students whoo have practical mediation or negotiation accreditations and/ or experience outside a training, university or clinic context are not eligible.
- Students who have already partcipated in a previous edition of the CDRC Vienna are not eligible to participate again as a Team Member.
