1st NMIMS Hyderabad Client Counselling Competition, 2026 (KauNyak 2026)


FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition is designed to simulate a real-life client interview in a professional law office setting. Participants will act as lawyers counselling a client and addressing legal issues through effective interviewing, legal analysis, and strategic advice. The competition consists of multiple rounds including Preliminary and Quarter Rounds followed by the Semi-Final and Final rounds, where teams demonstrate their counselling, communication, and problem-solving abilities in realistic client-interaction scenarios.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to students from any recognised law school or university in India enrolled in a 5-year integrated LL.B. programme or a 3-year LL.B. programme. There is no restriction on the number of teams from a single university that may participate.


TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of two members, designated as Counsel No. 1 and Counsel No. 2, who will work together to interview the client, identify legal issues, and provide appropriate legal advice during the counselling session

Important Dates 

    • Last Date of Registration: 25 March 2026

    • Preliminary & Quarter Rounds (Online): 4 April 2026

    • Semi-Final & Final Rounds (Online): 5 April 2026


Registration Fees

    • ₹2,000 per team (non-refundable).

Awards
  • Winners: ₹20,000 + Certificate of Merit
  • Runners-Up: ₹15,000 + Certificate of Merit

  • Best Counsel: ₹10,000 + Certificate of Merit

  • Runners-Up Counsel: ₹5,000 + Certificate of Merit

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 20 March 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
