3rd NATIONAL LAW FEST, 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The Mediation and Negotiation Competitions form an integral part of the 3rd National Law Fest, 2026, organized by the ADR, Drafting & Literary Society. These competitions aim to provide participants with hands-on exposure to Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms.

The Mediation Competition focuses on facilitated dispute resolution with the involvement of a neutral mediator, whereas the Negotiation Competition emphasizes direct bargaining and strategic interaction between parties. Both competitions will consist of multiple rounds, including preliminary rounds followed by knockout stages such as semi-finals and finals. Participants will be judged on communication, strategy, problem-solving skills, and effective application of ADR principles.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competitions are open to undergraduate and postgraduate law students from any recognized university or institution. Participants must be bona fide students at the time of registration. 

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Mediation Competition:

  • Each team shall consist of three members:

    • Two Client-Counsel representatives

    • One Mediator

Negotiation Competition:

  • Each team shall consist of two members, acting as negotiators.

Important Dates 

    • Registration Starts: 5th March 2026

    • Last Date for Clarification: 15th April 2026

    • Last Date of Registration: 21st April 2026

    • Last Date for Submission (if applicable): 25th April 2026

    • Competition Dates: 1st May – 3rd May 2026


Registration Fees

    • Mediation Competition:

      • ₹1500 per team

      Negotiation Competition:

      • ₹1000 per team

    • Winner & Runner-Up Teams

    Negotiation Competition:

    Certificates of Participation shall be awarded to all participants.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 15 April 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.

EVENT NAME: 3rd JGLS–Khaitan & Co Negotiation Competition 2026 FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition will be conducted in two stages. First, all provisionally registered teams will participate in the Negotiation Plan Round (8th–15th October 2025) , where they will submit detailed negotiation strategies based on the released problem. The top 16 teams from this stage will qualify for the oral rounds held on-campus at O.P. Jindal Global University on 7th–8th February 2026 , which will include Qualifier Rounds, Semi-Finals, and Finals , testing participants’ advocacy, problem-solving, and collaboration skills in live negotiation settings.   EVENT NAME: Lex Infinitum 2026 – 11th Edition of the International Dispute Resolution Competition FORMAT: The competition will be structured as : The competition consists of Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and a Final Round . All teams participate in two preliminary rounds, acting once as Requesting Party and once as Responding Party. The top 8 Negotiating Teams and top 4 Mediators advance to the Quarter-Finals. Winners proceed to the Semi-Finals, which serve as the final round for mediators, and the top 2 Negotiating Teams then face off in the Final Round, mediated by a professional mediator.
