1st GAJE-NLUO National Negotiation Competition, 2023
The ADR Board of National Law University Odisha (NLUO) is organizing the 1st edition of the NLUO National Negotiation Competition, 2023 in collaboration with the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE). The online competition is centered around the theme - Corporate and Commercial disputes. This event aims to provide a platform for law students from across the country to showcase their skills in ADR while focusing on the intricacies of corporate and commercial matters.

National
Law University Odisha (NLUO) is a prestigious institution of legal education in
India, known for its excellence in teaching and research. Established in 2009,
NLUO is situated in Cuttack, Odisha, and offers undergraduate, postgraduate,

event:
The
Negotiation Competition is designed to provide participants with an opportunity
to showcase their negotiation skills with propositions covering both corporate
transactions and commercial disputes. The competition will offer participants a
unique opportunity to delve into the complex world of business disputes,
allowing them to navigate the details of contractual disagreements, shareholder
conflicts, and intellectual property disputes. As the boundaries of global
commerce continue to expand, the importance of effective dispute resolution
mechanisms in the corporate realm becomes increasingly evident.
As an
online event, the competition offers the convenience of remote participation,
allowing students from various law schools and universities to compete without
the limitations of geographical boundaries. It provides a unique opportunity
for networking and collaboration, facilitating the exchange of ideas and
experiences among participants, judges, and industry professionals.
The
Competition offers multiple incentives for the participants including exciting
cash prizes, and internships flowing from the collaborations from diverse
National and International Institutions working in the field of Dispute
Resolution.

Dates:
- Last Date for Provisional Registration: 26th July 2023 (11:59 PM)
- Last Date for Payment and Final Registration: 30th July 2023 (11:59 PM)
- Release of Problems: 4th August 2023
- Preliminary Round 1 and 2: 12th August 2023
- Semi - Final and Final Round: 13th August 2023
Format of the Competition :
- Teams comprising of 2 members: 1 Client and 1 Counsel.
- 2 preliminary rounds for each team, with a duration of 40 minutes each.
- Qualifying teams will progress to the Semi-Finals and Finals.
- The entire competition will be conducted online via Zoom.
