1st International Negotiation & Mediation Competition 2023 in association with Wadia Ghandy & Co.

NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law, will be organizing the 1st edition of the International Negotiation and Mediation Competition, 2023, in association with Wadia Ghandy and Co. in a Hybrid format. 

I. COMPETITION STRUCTURE

 

Eligibility: Only bonafide students pursuing undergraduate L.L.B. three/five-year degree programs during the academic year 2023-24 are eligible to participate.

Format: Registrations will be invited from National and International Law universities/colleges/institutes for a maximum of two teams consisting of three students each for the Mediation Segment and two students each for the Negotiation segment. After preliminary rounds 1 & 2, the eight teams with the highest cumulative team scores in each segment, i.e. Mediation and Negotiation will qualify for the quarter-finals on a progression basis. Winners of each Mediation or Negotiation room of the subsequent rounds will qualify for the next round on a knock-out basis.

Venue: Kirit P. Mehta School of Law (NMIMS) Campus, SVKM’s NMIMS, 9th Floor, Mithi bai Campus, V. L. Mehta Road, Vile-Parle, West Mumbai, Pin-code: 400056. 

Dates:

a.    19th-20th August 2023: Virtual Preliminary Rounds 1 & 2 

b.    2nd-3rd September 2023: Offline Rounds i.e., Quarter Final, Semi-Final and Final Rounds

II. REGISTRATION FEE

Registration Fee per team (for both formats of Mediation and Negotiation)  shall be INR 3,500/- (Indian Rupees Three Thousand Only), exclusive of taxes for the Virtual Preliminary Rounds, and a further Fee per team applicable only for the Qualifying teams of the Offline Rounds, traveling to the Mumbai Campus of NMIMS School of Law, Maharashtra, shall be an additional INR 6,000/- (Indian Rupees Six Thousand Only).

Registration Fee per team for International Teams shall be $90/- (US Dollars Ninety Only), exclusive of taxes for all rounds being held virtually.

PRIZES

 

The winning teams from the negotiation and mediation segment and the winning mediator will receive an internship opportunity for a continuous period of 2 months at Wadia Ghandy & Co. at any of their offices located in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore, as per the winning participants' preference. The winners eligible for availing this internship opportunity will be provided with a Six-month window starting from 3rd September 2023 to choose the months of their preference, subject to the vacancy at the firm. An Online Internship Opportunity can be provided for winning International Teams. Additionally, cash prizes worth Rs. 1,75,000 shall be awarded to the winning participants by Wadia Ghandy and Co. and NMIMS Kirit P. Mehta School of Law.

Interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac. and hartejs.kochher@ddn.upes.ac.in in with all necessary details (including Name, Sap Id, Course & Batch, Year and Internal Ranks of TEAM MEMBERS, Contact number) latest by 3th August 2023 before 11:59 PM.
