INTERCESSIONIS 2023 6TH EDITION OF THE ILSCA INTER -COLLEGE MEDIATION COMPETITION

 COMPETITION BRIEF 

ILS Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (ILSCA) and ILS Law College, Pune in association with ADR ODR International is organizing a three-day Inter-College Mediation Competition. This competition will provide the participants an opportunity to test their core mediation skills and experience mediation sessions through rounds of competitive simulations. This competition will witness 16 teams, from all over India; pitch their skills to tackle tactfully-drafted mediation problems. The tournament aims to highlight the role of the mediator, the client, and the attorney in a mediation session.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERION

The competition is open to full-time law students (5-year or 3-year course) registered in any university in India for the academic year 2023-2024. Only students studying law may participate in the competition. LLM students are not eligible to participate in the competition. 

REGISTRATION 

1. The Registration link will be activated on 4 th July, 2023 at 12:00 PM sharp and will close at 11:59 PM on 11th July, 2023.
2. Withdrawals of any sort will not be permitted once the final list of teams is announced.

REGISTRATION FEES

1. Upon selection of the team by the Organizing Committee, the team must pay the full registration fee, which is Rs. 10,000 exclusive of GST per team, within the time limit as indicated by the Organizing Committee in the selection communication. There will be no refund of the registration fee in any circumstances, unless the competition is called off by the Organizing Committee for reasons that will be provided. 
2. Additionally, the teams that wish to opt for accommodation will be sent information separately concerning the details. 
3. It is to be noted that registration fees is exclusive of Accommodation fees which is optional at the instance of teams which opt for it.  

STRUCTURE

•  On 04th August, 2023, there shall be a pre-competition workshop which will be organized by ADR ODR International. This Workshop will provide participants with core mediation and negotiation skills and hands-on experience through a variety of simulations and practical role-play sessions. Attendance of all the participants is mandatory. 
• Draw of Lots – the side for each round will be decided by draw of lots on the day of Workshop, 8 i.e., 4th August 2023. 
• The competition consists of two Preliminary Rounds and Quarterfinal Round on Day One i.e., 05th August, 2023. The Semi-finals and the Finals will be held on Day Two of the competition i.e., 06th August, 2023. During the Rounds, the Organizing Committee will assign teams to compete against each other as the Requesting and Responding Party. 

VENUE

The place of the competition will be ILS Law College, Law College Road (Chiplunkar Road), Pune 411004, Maharashtra.

Interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac. and hartejs.kochher@ddn.upes.ac.in in with all necessary details (including Internal Ranks, details of individual, Contact number) latest by 9th July 2023 before 11:59 PM.
