 The Negotiation Competition

Society for Young Advocates and Researchers has been trying to push the limits to educate the upcoming generation of legal professionals to comprehend the value of the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism in this fast-paced era. SYAR presents with an opportunity for the law students to hone their skills in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution and build requisite skills required to be a good a negotiator.

Our seventh edition is aimed at imparting knowledge and helping students learn requisite skills under the guidance of professional negotiators, who are renowned and have a vast experience in the field. Today, Alternative Dispute Resolution is emerging and we are sure that this competition will add to your learning and will help you in the professional phase of life.

Eligibility and fee details

Each Participant must be a current law student, enrolled bonafide on a regular basis in an Undergraduate LL.B. Degree Course or its equivalent conducted by any recognized institute. A recognized institution shall be entitled to send only four teams to the competition. The registration fee for the competition is set at INR 5000.

Team Composition

A team shall consist of 2 participants who shall act as a “Client” and “Counsel” in the Competition.

  • Runner up Team
  • Best Negotiating Team in Preliminary Round

Prizes include internships with Khaitan & Co, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Dentons Link Legal, and cash prizes worth Rs. 22,000.


Venue

The Competition will be conducted over Zoom platform. 

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: August 15, 2023
  • Last Date for Final Registration: August 25, 2023
  • Release of Competition Proposition: September 5, 2023
  • Last Date for Seeking Clarifications: September 15, 2023
  • Date of Negotiation Rounds: September 30 – October 2, 2023

Application Procedure:
WE ARE ACCEPTING TEAM REGISTRATIONS. 
Interested students before filling out the participation form MUST apply at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in and cc to  anwesha.pathak@ddn.upes.ac. and hartejs.kochher@ddn.upes.ac.in in with all necessary details (including Name, Sap Id, Course & Batch, Year and Internal Ranks of TEAM MEMBERS, Contact number) latest by 5th August 2023 before 11:59 PM.

 In case of any query, contact team ADR but kindly do not upload wrong information; for the application shall be rejected outright if any discrepancy is found.
