Extempore and Writing Competition on Mediation by Oriental University

 Oriental University is conducting its first-ever Online Extempore Writing Competition on the theme of mediation.

About Oriental University

Oriental Faculty of Law is one of the premier law colleges established in Indore. It offers quality legal education at Undergraduate, Postgraduate levels in the form of BA.LL.B. (5 Years), LL.B (3 Years) & LL.M. (1 year Course). These courses are recognized and approved by the BCI.

Besides this, the college offers Diploma and Certificate courses in the areas of specialization in Cyber Laws and IPR. The faculty of law also provides an opportunity for pursuing Doctorate in Law.

About the Competition

This competition aims to provide a platform for students from different academic disciplines to improve their knowledge of mediation skills, current laws, and issues and gain invaluable experience in resolving disputes through mediation.

This competition provides an exclusive opportunity to write down or express their thoughts on a public platform related to ADR mechanisms in India. The competition further introduces law student participants to understand the challenges of laws related to mediation and enriches personality and professional skills.

Eligibility

Students pursuing their Undergraduate/PG/Scholar in law or any other course from any Institution/College/University in India are eligible to participate.

General Rules

  • Participant has to choose and register for any of the theme mentioned above either for extempore or article writing.
  • During the extempore sub-theme [according to the main theme selected by the participant] for sharing ideas will be provided at least 10 minutes prior to the competition or turn.

For article writing:

  • The word limit is between 1200-1500, entries must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 10 with 1.0 line spacing.
  • Only Uniform Style footnoting is allowed not endnotes.
  • All the documents can be submitted for assessment before 18:00 only{on the day of the competition only} on mail id: info.adrcentre@orientaluniversity.in
  • All the documents will be checked through Turnitin and plagiarism only up to 10% is allowed
  • Certificate/Cash Prize will be awarded only when the full session is attended.

Registration Process

  • Registration is FREE and all the registered participants have to attend the competition compulsory online through Zoom.
  • The participant can register either for Extempore or article writing through Google Form for one theme only.

Cash Prizes for first three winners [both extempore and article writing respectively]: INR 3,100/-, 2,100/-, 1,100/-
