20th ICC Mediation Competition, 2025

                                                


The ICC Dispute resolution services is pleased to announce the 120th ICC Mediation Competition,2025 which will be held between 3rd-8th Feb,2025 at Paris, France. The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition is one of the biggest educational competitions worldwide dedicated exclusively to international commercial mediation. 

     EVENT NAME:

     20th ICC Mediation Competition, 2025

ELIGIBILITY:

The ICC Mediation Competition only accepts applications from universities, not individual students. Each university can nominate a team of 2-4 students, at least one of whom must be a law student. Eligible students must be full-time undergraduates without relevant work experience. Teams can be accompanied by up to 2 coaches, but other individuals or non-team students are not allowed. Two universities can jointly apply for one team, and students can only participate in the competition once as a competing team member.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

The ICC Mediation Competition's Organizing Committee will select 48 teams based on their discretion. 10 places are reserved for first-time participants. The Organizing Committee may put in place agreements with national or regional pre-moots or moots, whose winner will automatically be accepted to participate in the Competition. Teams selected through this means are counted in the total 48 Teams. The Organizing Committee will inform universities of their acceptance or non-acceptance according to a published schedule. Accepted universities must submit team member details within a given timeframe. General Selection criteria include ADR curriculum focus, past competition performance, and cultural diversity. Registration must be done by the university.

REGISTRATION FEE, TRAVEL, COSTS AND VISAS:

     Upon acceptance of the Team by the Organizing Committee, each university must pay the full registration fee within the time limit as indicated by the Organizing Committee. 50% of the registration fee will be refunded if notice of cancellation is received in writing before 23 November 2024. No refund will be made for cancellations received after this date. ICC reserves the right to cancel the event or make minor changes, with full refunds for paying participants in the event of cancellation. Failure to pay the full registration fee within the communicated timeframe will lead to disqualification. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient funding to cover their travel and stay in Paris and for obtaining any necessary visas. Failure to obtain a visa or secure adequate funding may also result in disqualification. The registration fee varies based on team size, with fees for coaches and observers also applicable.

  •      Two students: €355 (€426 with VAT) ≈ ₹30,885 (₹37,122 with VAT)
  •      Three students: €465 (€558 with VAT) ≈ ₹40,455 (₹48,576 with VAT)
  •      Four students: €565 (€678 with VAT) ≈ ₹49,255 (₹59,076 with VAT)
  •      First coach: Included in initial registration fee
  •      Second coach: €100 (€120 with VAT) ≈ ₹8,700 (₹10,440 with VAT)
  •      Observer: €340 (€408 with VAT) ≈ ₹29,580 (₹35,496 with VAT)

IMPORTANT DATES:

  • October 4, 2024 – Application Submissions Deadline for University Teams, Professionals, and Volunteers 
  • November 4, 2024 – Announcement of Application Decisions
  • November 12, 2024 – Applications Open for Observers
  • November 14, 2024 – Visa Request Letter Deadline for University Teams, Professionals, and Volunteers
  • November 14, 2024 – Professional Information Deadline: Bio’s, Contact info, Conflicts, Schedule Availability
  • November 22, 2024 – Registration Fee Payment Deadline for University Teams
  • December 9, 2024 – Visa Proof Deadline – All University Teams, Professionals, and Volunteers who need Visa’s to attend the Competition must submit documentation of their Visa or date they will receive their Visa
  • January 10, 2025 – Applications Close for Observers
  • February 3, 2025 – Preliminary Rounds; Welcome Reception
  • February 4, 2025 – Preliminary Rounds
  • February 5, 2025 – Preliminary Rounds
  • February 6, 2025 – Quarter Final Rounds
  • February 7, 2025 – 12th ICC Mediation Roundtable; Mediation – Professional Stories; Semi-Final Rounds
  • February 8, 2025 – Final Round; Awards Ceremony

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 30th September 2024.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
