Inter-University Mediation Competition 2026
Organised by Samadhan – The Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, School of Law, SVKM’s NMIMS Indore.

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode, with Preliminary Rounds held online on 20–21 February 2026, followed by offline Advanced Rounds (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final) at the NMIMS Indore campus on 14–15 March 2026. The Preliminary stage consists of two online rounds of 45 minutes each. Based on cumulative scores, the top 8 teams advance to the Quarter-Finals. The Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals are conducted on a knockout basis, culminating in the Final Round where the top two teams compete. The format simulates real-life mediation sessions involving client–counsel pairs and mediators, with judges’ feedback provided after rounds.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open exclusively to Law Colleges and Universities recognised by the Bar Council of India. Only bona fide students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programmes during the current academic year are eligible. Each institution may nominate a maximum of two teams, and cross-university teams are not permitted.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of three members:

  • One Mediator

  • One Client

  • One Counsel

The Client and Counsel together form the Mediating Pair. Roles must be declared at the time of registration and cannot be changed at any stage of the competition

Important Dates 

  • Commencement of Registration: 15 January 2026

  • Closing of Registration: 15 February 2026

  • Problem Release (Preliminary Rounds): 16 February 2026

  • Preliminary Rounds (Online): 20–21 February 2026

  • Results of Preliminary Rounds: 23 February 2026

  • Problem Release (Advanced Rounds): 10 March 2026

  • Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals: 14 March 2026

  • Final Round & Valedictory Ceremony: 15 March 2026


Registration Fees

    • Preliminary Rounds (Online):

      • ₹3,500 per team

      • ₹1,750 per team for Grant-in-Aid Colleges

    • Offline Advanced Rounds (for Qualifying Teams):

      • ₹3,000 per Mediating Pair

      • ₹1,500 per Mediator
        (Includes accommodation and meals)

    Registration and payment must be completed on or before 15 February 2026. Fees are non-refundable.

Awards
  • Best Mediating Pair: ₹15,000 + Certificate + Internship Opportunity

  • Runner-Up Mediating Pair: ₹12,000 + Certificate + Internship Opportunity

  • Best Mediator: ₹7,000 + Certificate + Internship Opportunity

  • Runner-Up Mediator: ₹5,000 + Certificate + Internship Opportunity

  • Additional Merits:

    • Certificates of Merit for 2nd Runner-Up teams

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 10 February 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
