MAIMS 6th Justice J.S. Verma Memorial ADR & Client Counselling Competition 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode, beginning with online rounds (Inaugural & Draw of Lots, Preliminary Rounds, Quarter-Finals and Semi-Finals) conducted via Zoom/Google Meet, followed by the Final Round conducted offline at the College Campus. The competition format across events includes Preliminary rounds followed by knockout rounds (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals), where qualifying teams proceed based on merit and rankings.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Students pursuing Law (3-year or 5-year courses) from recognized colleges/universities across the nation are eligible to participate. Negotiation, Mediation and Arbitration allow unlimited teams per institution, while Client Counselling allows a maximum of two teams per institution.


TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Negotiation: 2 members (1 Client + 1 Counsel)
  • Mediation: 3 members (1 Mediator + 2 members as Client–Counsel pair)
  • Arbitration: Maximum 3 members (2 Speakers + 1 Researcher)
  • Client Counselling: 2 members (both participants act as advocates during the counselling session)

    • 14 March 2026 – Preliminary Rounds (Online)

    • 15 March 2026 – Quarter-Finals & Semi-Finals (Online)

    • 23 March 2026 – Final Round (Offline, College Campus)

  • Negotiation: ₹3,150 per team (inclusive of GST)

  • Mediation: ₹3,500 per team (inclusive of GST)

  • Arbitration: ₹3,150 per team (inclusive of GST)

  • Client Counselling: ₹3,150 per team (inclusive of GST)

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 1st March 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
