NLUO National Negotiation Competition 2026
Organised by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Board,
National Law University Odisha (NLUO), Cuttack

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition begins with a Negotiation Plan Qualifier, where all registered teams are required to prepare and submit a detailed Negotiation Plan based on the General Information released by the organisers. These plans are evaluated by an expert panel, and the top 24 teams are shortlisted for the offline negotiation rounds. The shortlisted teams then participate in two Preliminary Rounds, followed by Advanced Rounds comprising the Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round, determined on the basis of scores as per the Rulebook. Each Preliminary Round is of 45 minutes, while the Advanced Rounds are of 1 hour each. All rounds are assessed by experienced legal practitioners and academicians

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to all students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year law programmes.
Both institutional and cross-institutional teams are permitted, and there is no cap on the number of teams from a single institution.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of two participants, who negotiate as a pair during all rounds of the competition. The same team composition must be maintained throughout the competition

Important Dates 

  • 27 January 2026 –Opening of Registration

  • 9 February 2026 – Last Date for Registration and Payment

  • 10 February 2026 – Release of Negotiation Problem

  • 25 February 2026 – Deadline for Submission of Negotiation Plans

  • 15 March 2026 Announcement of Top 24 Teams

  • 3–5 April 2026 – On-Campus Negotiation Rounds at NLUO


Registration Fees

  • Registration Fee (All Teams): ₹3,000 per team

  • Additional Fee for On-Campus Rounds (Top 24 Teams): ₹9,000 per team

  • The additional on-campus fee covers accommodation and selected meals during the competition days

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 6th February 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
