7th GNLU Annual Legal Services Forum – 3rd GNLU Mediation Competition 2026

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition follows a hybrid structure with Preliminary Rounds I & II conducted online and all Advanced Rounds (Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Finals) conducted offline at the GNLU Gandhinagar campus. All teams participate in both preliminary rounds, where Client–Counsel pairs and Mediators compete independently based on individual scoring. The top 8 Client–Counsel pairs and top 8 Mediators qualify for the Quarter-Finals. The knockout rounds offline determine the highest-scoring pairs and mediators, who then advance to the Semi-Finals and ultimately to the Final Round.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

All students currently pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year Integrated LL.B. degree are eligible to participate. Each recognised university may send only one team, and cross-university teams are not allowed. The competition will be conducted exclusively in English.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team must consist of three members:

  • 1 Mediator

  • 1 Client

  • 1 Counsel

The Mediator’s role remains unchanged throughout the competition. The Client and Counsel cannot interchange roles during rounds, except in exceptional circumstances approved by the organisers.

  • 24 Jan 2026 – Release of Problem for Preliminary Rounds

  • 15 Feb 2026 – Deadline for Seeking Clarifications (Prelims)

  • 16 Feb 2026 – Release of Clarifications (Prelims)

  • 21 & 22 Feb 2026 – Preliminary Rounds I & II (Online)

  • 23 Feb 2026 – Prelims Results

  • 5 Feb 2026 – Release of Quarter-Finals Problem

  • 23 Feb 2026 – Clarification Deadline (QF)

  • 25 Feb 2026 – Release of Clarifications (QF)

  • 28 Feb 2026 – Quarter-Finals

  • 1 Mar 2026 – Quarter-Finals Results

  • 15 Mar 2026 – Release of Semi-Final & Final Problem

  • 5 Mar 2026 – Clarification Deadline (SF & Finals)

  • 6 Mar 2026 – Release of Clarifications

  • 21 Mar 2026 – Semi-Finals

  • 22 Mar 2026 – Final Rounds (Offline


Registration Fees

  • ₹3,000 per team
  • Additional charges apply for teams that choose to avail accommodation

Awards

  • Winner – Client–Counsel Pair: ₹25,000

  • Runner-Up – Client–Counsel Pair: ₹15,000

  • Best Mediator: ₹12,500

  • Runner-Up Mediator: ₹7,500

  • Certificates of Participation for all participants

  • Certificates of Appreciation & Mementos for top performers in prelims

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by  10th January 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
