S.K. Misra Memorial International Mediation and Negotiation Competition 7.0 (2026)
Hosted by Lloyd Law College, conducted entirely online via Zoom.

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition is conducted completely online and consists of six rounds: two Preliminary Rounds, followed by the Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and the Final Round. All teams participate in both preliminary rounds, after which the top 32 teams advance to the Octa-Finals. From there, rounds follow a knockout format, progressively narrowing down to the top teams for the Finals. Each session includes structured time for mediation, caucuses, and judge feedback.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Participants must be full-time or part-time law students enrolled at the time of the competition. Students who graduated within three months prior to the competition are still eligible. Each university may register up to four teams, and all team communications must follow anonymity rules using the assigned Team Code.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team consists of three members:

  • 1 Mediator

  • 1 Client

  • 1 Counsel

A maximum of two coaches may accompany a team, and they may support preparation but cannot assist during sessions. Mediators and Negotiators (Client–Counsel) compete independently, though within the same sessions.

IMPORTANT DATE:

  • 30 Nov 2025 – Registrations Open

  • 31 Jan 2026 – Provisional Registration Closes

  • 5 Feb 2026 – Final Registration Closes

  • 10 Feb 2026 – Mediation Problem Released

  • 15 Feb 2026 – Deadline for Clarification Questions

  • 28 Feb 2026 – Submission of Mediation Plan Closes

  • 1 Mar 2026 – Workshop

  • 13 Mar 2026 – Preliminary Rounds

  • 14 Mar 2026 – Octa & Quarter Finals

  • 15 Mar 2026 – Semi-Final, Final & Valedictory Ceremony


Registration Fees

  • As per the Registration Process section:

    • Indian Teams: ₹5,000 per team

    • International Teams: USD 70

    Fees include access to all competition events, workshops, opening and closing ceremonies.
    Note: Fees are strictly non-refundable.

Awards

Total prize pool: ₹1,50,000
Categories include:

  • Best Negotiating Team

  • Runner-Up Negotiating Team

  • Best Mediator

  • Runner-Up Mediator

  • Best Mediation Plan (₹10,000)

  • Best Negotiation Plan (₹20,000)

  • Best Opening Statements (Mediator – ₹10,000; Negotiator – ₹20,000)

  • Best Teamwork & Relationship-Building Awards

  • Best Creative Solution

  • Best Acknowledgment of Cultural Differences

  • Best Performance by First-Time Participating Team (₹15,000)

    Awards in some categories are shared proportionately based on final scores.

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by  31st December 2025.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
