7th National Med-Arb Competition (NMAC) 2026
Organised by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee (ADRC), Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU), Tiruchirappalli

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition follows a Med-Arb hybrid model where participants begin each round in mediation as Client–Counsel pairs and then transition into arbitration, with the Mediator assuming the role of Arbitrator. The Preliminary Rounds will be held online to ensure accessibility, after which the Top 16 teams from 32 participating institutions will progress to the offline Advanced Rounds at the TNNLU campus. Advanced stages include a Qualifier Round, Semi-Finals, and Finals, conducted in a fully immersive setting.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to full-time undergraduate law students from accredited universities. While cross-institutional registration is permitted for forming teams, the Client and Counsel must be from the same institution to ensure consistency and institutional representation.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team will compete in both mediation and arbitration phases:

  • Client–Counsel pair act together in Mediation

  • Same participants act as Counsel–Counsel in Arbitration

  • The Mediator becomes the Arbitrator in later phases

IMPORTANT DATE:

  • 6 December 2025 – Commencement of Provisional Registration

  • 24 December 2025 – Release of Problem

  • 26 December 2025 – Deadline for Provisional Registration

  • 28 December 2025 – Confirmation of slots & Start of Final Registration

  • 1 January 2026 – Deadline for Seeking Clarification

  • 10 January 2026 – Deadline for Final Registration

  • 11 January 2026 – Release of Clarifications

  • 25 January 2026 – Submission of Arbitration Memorandum (Soft Copy)

  • 7–8 February 2026 – Online Preliminary Rounds

  • 28–29 March 2026 – Offline Advanced Rounds & Valedictory Ceremony

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by  15th December 2025.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
