FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The tournament is a full-scale mediation competition where each team participates as a Client–Counsel pair and a Mediator. The competition begins with a Qualifier Round, judged on the basis of Strategy Papers, from which 24 teams will be selected to participate physically at NALSAR. The on-campus rounds include three Preliminary Rounds, followed by two Advanced Rounds—the Semi-Final and Final. Each preliminary session is 60 minutes, and each advanced round lasts 90 minutes, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of strategy, communication, and mediation techniques.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Participation is open only to students pursuing their Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB or equivalent).

  • Cross-institutional teams are allowed

  • Multiple teams from the same university may register

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of three members:

  • One Client

  • One Counsel

  • One Mediator

These roles remain fixed throughout the tournament, and all three participants take part in the mediation sessions.

IMPORTANT DATE:

  • 10 December 2025 – Registrations Open

  • 25 December 2025 – Strategy Paper Round Problem Release & Registration Close

  • 7 January 2026 – Submission of Strategy Paper

  • 12 January 2026 – Result Declaration (Qualifier Round)

  • 6 February 2026 – Registration, Training Session & Panel Discussion

  • 7 February 2026 – Preliminary Rounds & Social Night

  • 8 February 2026 – Semi-Finals, Finals & Valedictory Ceremony

  • 🏨 Accommodation for qualified teams is provided at Honeyberg Resort, and food + social night access is included in the fee

Registration Fees

  • Qualifier Round: ₹3,500 per team
  • Mediation Rounds (for 24 qualifying teams): ₹10,500 per team

  • Total Registration Fee: ₹14,000 per team

    Registration fees include accommodation, food, and entry to the social night.

Students interested in applying must submit a Mediation Plan to the ADR Committee, UPES, at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, by 21st December, based on which the competition allotment will be made.

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by  21st December 2025.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
