The competition will be structured as:

The Panchayat Mediation Competition 2026 follows a hybrid format, combining online and in-person rounds. Each participating team will engage in two mediation sessions during the preliminary round, representing both the requesting party and the responding party to ensure a balanced understanding of rural disputes. The mediation sessions are uniquely designed to reflect grassroots dispute resolution, where mediation is jointly conducted by a law student mediator and a villager co-mediator, symbolising the integration of legal expertise with lived community experience. Following written submissions and online rounds, selected teams will advance to in-person rounds, culminating in final mediation sessions that assess collaborative problem-solving, ethical conduct, and settlement design.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to law students, ADR trainees, and mediation enthusiasts across India. Registration is subject to limited slots and is conducted strictly on a first-come, first-served basis.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of four members:

  • One Client (Villager)

  • One Counsel (Law Student)

  • Two Mediators (one Law Student Mediator and one Villager Co-Mediator)

This structure is designed to ensure authenticity in community-based mediation and experiential learning for participants..

IMPORTANT DATE:

  • 1 December 2025 – Registration Begins

  • 31 January 2026 – Early Bird Registration Deadline

  • 15 February 2026 – Final Registration Deadline

  • March 2026 – PRC Workshop Series

  • 15 April 2026 – Written Submission Deadline

  • May 2026 – Online Rounds

  • June 2026 – In-Person Rounds

Registration Fees

  • Early Bird Registration: ₹5,000 per team

  • Final Registration: ₹8,000 per team

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 1st February 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
