8th NUJS International Mediation Competition (IMC)
Organised by ADRSOC, The West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (NUJS), Kolkata

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition begins with two online Preliminary Rounds on 31st January 2026, where teams showcase negotiation strategy and teamwork in simulated mediation settings. The Top 16 Negotiators & Top 16 Mediators will advance to the Octa-Finals, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals & Final Rounds, which will take place offline at NUJS Kolkata on 28th February – 1st March 2026. The offline segment will feature complex commercial disputes designed to test adaptability, cultural understanding, and professional conduct in mediation advocacy.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to full-time undergraduate law students from accredited universities. While cross-institutional registration is permitted for forming teams, the Client and Counsel must be from the same institution to ensure consistency and institutional representation.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team will consist of three members: one Mediator and two Negotiators (Client and Counsel). While all three team members participate in the same mediation sessions, the Negotiators and Mediator are evaluated independently, as they compete in their respective categories throughout the competition.

IMPORTANT DATE:

  • 15 December 2025 – Last Date for Provisional Registration

  • 20 December 2025 – Confirmation of Team Slot

  • 28 December 2025 – Last Date for Fee Payment*

  • 1st Week of January 2026 – Release of Rules & Proposition

  • 1 February 2026 – Online Preliminary Rounds

  • 28 February – 1 March 2026 – Offline Advanced Rounds at NUJS Kolkata

Registration Fees:
  • Online Rounds (All Teams):

    • ₹7,500 per team (Indian teams)

    • $100 per team (International teams)

  • Offline Rounds (only for teams that qualify):

    • ₹6,000 / $60 for Negotiating Pair

    • ₹3,000 / $30 for Mediator

  • Includes: Breakfast, lunch, networking & social events

  • Not included: Travel and accommodation

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by  10th December 2025.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
