SLS, NAGPUR IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THE INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION COMPETITION, 2025 WHICH IS TO TAKE PLACE ON 1st AND 2nd MARCH 2025

COMPETITION NAME

INTERNATIONAL ARBITRATION COMPETITION, 2025 

FORMAT:

  • Preliminary Rounds:

    • Date: March 1, 2025

    • Mode: Offline at Symbiosis Law School, Nagpur

    • Details: Two rounds with a total time of 40 minutes plus 5 minutes for rebuttals and sur-rebuttals per round.

    Advanced Rounds:

    • Semi-Finals:

      • Date: March 2, 2025

      • Mode: Offline

      • Details: Each team gets 50 minutes for arguments and 10 minutes for rebuttals and sur-rebuttals.

    • Finals:

      • Date: March 2, 2025

      • Mode: Offline

      • Details: Each team gets 60 minutes for arguments and 15 minutes for rebuttals and sur-rebuttals.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Each team must consist of three members – two members shall act as the Counsels and one member shall act as the Arbitrator. 
  • The composition of the Team shall not be changed throughout the Competition. The role of the members of a Team as mentioned during the final registration shall be final save as permitted in writing by the Organizing Committee.
  • The Arbitrator shall play a passive role during all the rounds, and no questions will be asked by the Arbitrator during the session. On the conclusion of the Preliminary Rounds, the Arbitrator shall be required to draft an Arbitral Award.
  • No Team shall be accompanied by a coach or an instructor.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Participation is open to law students enrolled in a 5-year or 3-year undergraduate law program. Teams must consist of two Counsels and one Arbitrator. Only one team per institution is allowed.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT:

  • Registration Fee:

    • Indian Teams: INR 9440 (inclusive of food and accommodation)

    • International Teams: USD 175

  • Provisional Registration Deadline: January 20, 2025

  • Final Registration Deadline: January 31, 2025

IMPORTANT DATES:

    • Commencement of Registration: January 11, 2025

    • Provisional Registration Deadline: January 20, 2025

    • Release of Arbitration Proposition: First Week of February 2025

    • Deadline for Travel Plans Submission: February 9, 2025

    • Semi-Finals & Finals: March 2, 2025

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 25th January 2025 by 11:59 pm.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
