The competition will feature virtual preliminary rounds on February 22, 2025, followed by in-person
advanced rounds on March 15-16, 2025.

COMPETITION NAME

NUALS Mediation Competition 2025

FORMAT:

  •  A mediation session will consist of two opposing client-counsel pairs who will try to resolve a dispute in the presence of two mediators. Each of the two mediators will be marked individually. The client-counsel pair shall be marked as a Negotiating team.
  • The Competition consists of the following rounds:
  • Preliminary Rounds (Online)
  • Octa Final Round
  • Quarterfinal Round
  • Semifinal Round
  • Final Round
    •  

TEAM COMPOSITION:

  • Any Participating Team in the Competition shall comprise a Negotiating Team and a Mediator. Each Negotiating Team shall comprise of a Counsel and a Client respectively.
  • In the Preliminary Rounds, the same participant shall not take the role of client or counsel twice, i.e., they cannot play the same roles for both rounds. However, from the Advanced Rounds, the participants shall choose their preferred roles for each round.
  • No team shall be accompanied to the competition venue by any Coach/Instructor.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Only bona-fide students pursuing their 3-year LLB or 5-year LLB program from Law Colleges/Universities recognised by the Bar Council of India are eligible to register for the event.

REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT:

  • To complete the Final Registration, the Teams are required to transfer the registration fees of Rs. 1300 per person. The mode for payment shall be intimated to the Teams later

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 20 January 2025
  • Commencement of Final Registration: 21 January 2025
  • Last Date for Seeking Clarifications on General Information for Prelims: 10 February 2025
  • Release of General Information for Prelims: 05 February 2025
  • Last Date for Final Registration: 15 February 2025
  • Preliminary Rounds (Online): 22 February 2025
  • Release of General Information for Advanced Rounds: 01 March 2025
  • Last Date for Registration for Advanced Rounds and Accommodation: 10 March 2025
  • Advanced Rounds - Octa Finals and Quarterfinals: 15 March 2025
  • Semifinal and Final Rounds: 16 March 2025

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:

Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 15th January 2025 by 11:59 pm.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
