FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition is conducted in a fully virtual mediation format and consists of Preliminary Round 1, Preliminary Round 2, Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final Round. Each mediation session includes two negotiating pairs and two mediators from different teams, with roles of requesting and responding parties assigned by the organisers. Preliminary and Quarter-Final sessions run up to 75 minutes (including mediation, scoring, and feedback), while Semi-Final and Final sessions run up to 135 minutes. Negotiating pairs receive confidential information 60 minutes before each session, and mediators receive role briefings prior to rounds. The format emphasizes caucus management, structured mediation flow, and ethical conduct.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to students enrolled bona fide in undergraduate or postgraduate law programmes or equivalent courses at any recognized institution. Each institution may send a maximum of two teams, and cross-institutional teams are permitted. Participation is confirmed on a first-come basis through final registration.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team must consist of three student members — two Negotiators (Client–Counsel pair) and one Mediator. Teams may optionally have one or two coaches, though a coach is not mandatory. Once registered, team composition cannot be changed except with express permission of the organisers for valid reasons. Negotiators and mediator are scored separately during sessions.

Registration Fees

      • 🇮🇳 Indian Teams: ₹4,500 per team

      • 🌍 Overseas Teams: USD 50 per team

      • Financial aid may be requested by international teams after provisional registration

    Interested Students before filling out Participation form Must apply by filling ADR APPLICATION FORM latest by 16th February 2026.  In case of any query, contact team ADR at soladr@ddn.upes.ac.in, but kindly do not upload wrong information; the application shall be rejected outright, if any discrepancy is found.
