Vidhikta 4.0 — National Client Counselling Competition
Organised by the Legal Aid Cell & CCADR, Chanakya National Law University, Patna

FORMAT:

The competition will be structured as:

The competition will be conducted in a hybrid format with virtual preliminary rounds followed by offline semi-final and final rounds at CNLU Patna. In the Preliminary Round, each team gets 45 minutes divided into a 30-minute client consultation and a 15-minute post-interview session with judges. The top 4 teams advance to the Semi-Finals (50 minutes total: 30 consultation + 20 post-interview) on a knockout basis, and top 2 teams proceed to the Final Round (60 minutes total: 40 consultation + 20 post-interview). Clients are provided by the organisers and teams are evaluated on counselling skill, legal analysis, rapport building, and strategy.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The competition is open to law students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated law programmes from any recognized university, college, or school of law in India. A maximum of two teams per institution is allowed, and only 32 teams will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis.

TEAM COMPOSITION:

Each team shall consist of two members — Counsel 1 and Counsel 2. The client will be provided by the Organising Committee, so participants only perform counselling roles. Team identity must remain anonymous during rounds through allotted team codes.

Registration Fees

  • Preliminary Rounds: ₹1,500 per participant

  • Advanced Offline Rounds (for qualifiers): ₹2,000 per participant

  • Includes food & event passes

  • Accommodation not included (assistance provided on request)

  • Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable
